Wendy Laza, MS, Ed.S

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Wendy believes it takes a great amount of strength and vulnerability for people of any age to reach out to a therapist and doesn't take that lightly. For this reason, she believes that a warm, open-minded, client-centered, and non-judgemental environment is essential in beginning to heal and grow into the best version of yourself.
She works primarily with pre-teens and adolescents who are experiencing a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. She also has experience working with young adults experiencing life transitions, self-esteem struggles, boundary setting, and personal growth. She would describe her clinical style as eclectic, finding it most important to meet the client where they are and incorporate their passions and interests into sessions. However, she incorporates
Play Therapy techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strength-based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, and aspects of values-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Wendy is passionate about representation in mental health and prides herself on being a multiculturally competent therapist with a wide array of experiences working with diverse populations, which includes being an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor and a fluent Spanish speaker and working within the black and Hispanic communities.

Regardless of what it took for you to make this call or complete this search, know that Wendy understands just how difficult that first step is, as she's been there herself, so congratulations and welcome to your self-growth journey.
