Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

As a mental health therapist, I care deeply about each and every one of my clients. I will support you in achieving your goals by offering empathetic support and by assigning you therapeutic challenges, such as setting a boundary, as needed. My passion is supporting clients who struggle with anxiety, stress, trauma, childhood emotional neglect, and attachment wounds. In sessions, I use cognitive behavioral therapy, one of the most effective treatment modalities, so that you can feel better faster. Above all, I strive to create an inclusive and affirming environment for all.

Specializations:

As a mental health therapist, Alli specializes in working with those who struggle with the following;

  •  Anxiety: I help clients challenge negative thinking patterns to decrease their anxiety. I will teach you cognitive restructuring techniques so that you can ‘be your own therapist’ and manage your anxiety between sessions.

  • Stress: I help clients learn coping skills and somatic techniques to manage their stress. Together, we will implement lifestyle changes to reduce stress and focus on ways to cope.

  • Trauma: I have extensive experience working with clients who have complex post-traumatic stress disorder. I will provide a safe and supportive environment to help you process and heal from traumatic experiences.

  • Childhood Emotional Neglect: I support clients in recognizing and addressing the impact of childhood emotional neglect (CEN) on their adult lives and relationships.

  • Attachment Wounds: I use attachment theory to help clients explore and work through attachment issues to improve their relationships and overall emotional well-being.

Modalities:

I incorporate the following evidence-based modalities into my practice:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, resulting in increased confidence, more self-compassion, and a more balanced and realistic approach to life.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): I assist clients in processing and reframing traumatic experiences to reduce PTSD symptoms and improve overall mental health.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): I teach clients self-soothing skills to regulate their emotions, tolerate distress, and establish healthy relationships.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy: Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery through Psychodynamic Therapy, where we'll collaboratively explore your inner world to unlock lasting personal growth and emotional well-being.

  • Onterpersonal Therapy: Empowering adults to navigate life's complexities, I offer transformative Interpersonal Therapy sessions that foster meaningful connections and promote emotional well-being.
