Matt Schwartz, MA
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. Life can feel overwhelming at any age, and therapy offers a place to pause, reflect, and find new ways forward. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, teens, couples, and families, helping navigate challenges with school, relationships, family stress, and big life transitions. My goal is to create a supportive, down-to-earth space where clients can be fully themselves, while also gaining practical tools for real-life change.
After earning an MSW from the University of South Florida, I spent several years as a School Social Worker at Orange Grove Middle Magnet School of the Arts. My experience in both school and private practice settings has given me a deep appreciation for how unique each person’s journey is. In sessions, I bring a balance of structure and flexibility—using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and The Gottman Method, while ensuring sessions feels safe and approachable; you are allowed to laugh during therapy!
Outside of work, I recharge by writing music on the piano, kayaking, and (don’t tell anyone this) building Lego sets. These outlets remind me that growth and creativity take many forms, and that play is often just as important as hard work.
Taking the first step into therapy can feel impossibly difficult, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
