Kate Snyder, MSW
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Hi, I'm Kate! I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, supported, and comfortable showing up exactly as you are. My goal is to create an open, collaborative, and compassionate environment where we can explore your relationship with yourself and the world around you.
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy and am passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, better understand their experiences, and feel more empowered in their everyday lives.
I incorporate a variety of approaches, including parts work, Somatic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices. I believe therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, so we'll work together to find what feels right for you and your individual goals.
I enjoy supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, grief, trauma, identity exploration, and the everyday challenges that life can bring. Whether you're working through something specific or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself, I'm here to meet you where you are and support you along the way.

Her approach focuses on building trust, developing healthy coping strategies, and helping clients move forward at their own pace.
-
Strengths-Based Therapy: Kate believes every individual has unique strengths, abilities, and resources that can support personal growth and healing. Rather than focusing solely on difficulties, she encourages clients to recognize their resilience and potential.
-
Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Kate incorporates mindfulness-based practices to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. Through techniques that encourage staying present and developing self-awareness, she supports clients in managing stress, reducing emotional overwhelm, and building a greater sense of balance in their everyday lives.

She believes clients are the experts on their own experiences and works collaboratively with them to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space. This approach allows clients to explore their thoughts and feelings openly while building self-awareness, confidence, and personal growth.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Kate incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them. Through mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based exploration, she helps clients identify what matters most to them and take meaningful steps toward living a more fulfilling and authentic life.
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI): Kate uses Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore their feelings about change, identify personal goals, and strengthen their motivation to move forward. This collaborative, nonjudgmental approach is especially helpful for individuals who may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or conflicted about making changes in their lives. Kate supports clients in building confidence and discovering their own reasons for growth.
